Dell laser MFP 1815dn comes with a built-in duplexer and is network ready; it supports the latest Windows Vista (32bit and 64bit), Mac, and Unix machines and is speedy at printing black text. There is a wealth of options for each of its functions: print, scan, copy, and fax, hence the MFP prefix. Dell provides generous support options for this inexpensive laser printer.

There are two Dell Laser MFP 1815dn Windows Vista 32 drivers available for download. The relatively smaller one (54.40 MB) is listed as driver-only while the bigger one (138 MB) comes with the user guide, hence the increase in size. Same applicable for Windows Vista 64 bit. Dell Laser MFP 1815dn Windows Vista Driver Installation

1. Download the driver file to your harddisk, e.g. c:/
2. Double-click the downloaded driver file to run it.
3. The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:/DELL/DRIVERS/RXXXXXX (XXXXXX being the filename of the Dell driver).

   Write down this path so the executable (I.e. Setup.exe) file can be found later.

4. The Self-Extractor window appears.
5. Click OK.
6. After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it.
7. Browse to the directory where you have extracted the driver files. Run SETUP.EXE
8. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
9. You will be able to install use the scan and print(PCL, PS and SPL) drivers after this.
