| Description | DP83816 refers to the chipset used in National Semiconductor Corps DP83816 (MacPHYTER-II) 100 Mbps Half & Full Duplex, 10 Mbps Half & Full Duplex ethernet cards.
Besides DP83816, the drivers also compatible with DP83815 chipsets ethernet cards. Nothing much has been mention on National Semiconductor website regarding DP83816 ethernet chipset, thus from the driver file names available for Windows XP e.g. NET83815.INF, DP83815.SYS and DP83815.pdb, the installation is similar with other network cards. After you plug in your DP83816 ethernet card, Windows XP will detect the new hardware and ask for the driver, just browse to c:/ethernet-dp83816/winxp for file NET83815.INF, Windows will install the driver and hopefully after you restart your PC, your network card will work perfectly. |
