Description

Following is the procedure on how to download the software driver file from Brother website.

1. From Brother website, choose Download option.

2. Select your corresponding operating system, and choose your langauge.

3. From the Full Driver & Software Package section, choose [Download & Information] link.

4. Then you will be prompted with a simple guide on how to download and install the software driver. Click on [Download] link.

5. After that you will reach the End-User License Agreement for Brother Software page. Click on [I accept] button to continue.

6. Remember to save the file in your local machine.

Following is the guideline on how to perform the installation of the software driver:

1. Double click on the download file

2. Winzip self extractor will start to unzip the file to your specified folder.

3. Double click SETUP.EXE file in the following directory: XXXXX->Driver->inst->XXXXX->SETUP.EXE
**At XXXXX, is the language name will be located. It varies on the language.

The installation will start. Please follow the installation screen directions.

4. Installation starts with Welcom page.
Click [Next] to continue.

5. Then you will reach the Software License Agreement page.
Click [Yes].

6. Please select the printer model.
Click [Next] to continue.

7. Select on [Standard Installation] option.
Click [Next] to continue.

8. Then you will reach the Select Connection page, where you need to select the appropriate connection method for your Brother HL-5140 printer.
Click [Next] to continue.

9. Then you need to specify the port of the printer that is connected to.
Click [Next] to continue.

10. Installation is now officially started, and to complete the installation, click on [Finish] button.
This driver is suitable for Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, Windows Me, Windows 98, Windows 95. Brother website also provide software driver for Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, and Mac OS X.
