| Description | Looking through the firmware download site for Samsung SD-616E DVDROM and I found all together eight of them and the latest firmware (2005, maybe the last?) is given the firmware version F508COM.
The firmware zip file contains three files, sfdnwin.exe (flashing software), F508COM.bin (firmware binary file) and a readme file. Flashing is pretty straight forward. Just extract all files to a temporary directory and run sfdnwin.exe, then select the firmware binary file and start the flashing. I have wrote a detailed readme on TSST CD DVDW Firmware Update Readme and Program. The steps are similar since they uses sfdnwin.exe and Samsung DVDROM are manufactured under TSSTCorp (Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology), where the readme is based on. |
