Windows Vista Users

If you have installed your printer on your PC using an original Lexmark Driver CD that came with your product and you are experiencing problems when printing, you may have installed the Windows XP driver.

To prevent issues during the installation, please uninstall all previous versions of this driver prior to installing this web package.

Follow these steps to resolve:

  1. Disconnect your USB cable from your printer.
  2. Uninstall all Lexmark printer drivers on your PC.
  3. Download the correct Vista driver for your model.
  4. Install the driver on your PC.

Important - Do not reconnect the USB cable until the install software prompts the question of how the printer is connected.

Windows 2000,XP,2003 Users

  1. I just bought a new laptop that has Windows 7 and I have problems installing my Lexmark x1240 all-in-one. Is it not compatible with Windows 7? When I scan a picture, people’s faces are red. It’s interesting it worked great when I installed it first time, but now it’s a nightmare.

Maybe you can try uninstall and then reinstall the driver. Since it works the first time, maybe you have made some setting changes. By reinstall the driver hopefully the settings will be reset and work again.

    Let us know ;)

I did it several times and it doesn’t work. The printer and the fax are OK, but the scanner is wrong.

If the problem only occurred in Windows 7, and work fine with other Windows, I am afraid it is the driver issue with Windows 7.
