Description
The NEC ND-1100A drives are ATAPI-devices, there is no need for special drivers when using operating systems like Linux, MacOS or Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP and Vista, because the drivers are already embedded there.
So what you need to have is firmware update, which is a small program that were saved inside the optical drive itself and providing the basic funtions e.g. reading/writing/cache...
The latest firmware update for NEC ND-1100A is version 1.A3 which added the following media information to the firmware.
Please be noted that while these medias are being recognized by the new firmware, they are actually not put into the list of recommend medias by NEC because as NEC said, there is no guarantee for optimal burn results and performance.
