Description

For HP Pavilion DV9260US notebook, the Windows XP drivers are compatible with those used in HP Pavilion dv9000t CTO Notebook PC. See here for more info.

So if you cannot find the sound driver for your DC9260US notebook, you can try download the one for dv9000t notebook.

Two types of sound chips are used in DV9260US notebooks. Please see your user manual or invoice to identify the type of sound chip used.

Conexant High Definition Audio Driver

    The new driver release fixes issue where the notebook speakers do not work after headphones or earphones are used for a while and then unplugged.

    You need to have HP SoftPaq Number SP32646, Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio, (or later) must be installed on the notebook before installing this SoftPaq. Look for HP SoftPaq Number SP32646 (or later) in the Software and Driver Downloads section of the www.hp.com website.

Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio

    The driver contains the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio in the listed operating systems.

    For more information about this driver, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 888111, Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver version 1.0a available for Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, and Microsoft Windows 2000.

    This new release added support for the Microsoft Windows 2000 Operating System.
