Description You might be wondering what is a SM Bus doing on your Lenovo 3000 V100 notebook? Well according to Intel, a SMBus is the System Management Bus used in personal computers and servers for low-speed, system management communications. A SMBus controller is integrated into most Intel chipsets.

If your Lenovo V100 SM bus driver is not installed, you will see this screen when you open the device manager, and it lists the SM Bus Controller as "Other Devices"

First we need to know what kind of SM Bus is Lenovo 3000 V100 notebook using. Fortunately we do not need to know that details because Intel has prepared a nice little utility to help us detect the SM Bus hardware version. To install and run the utility, download the INFINST_AUTOL.EXE file and run the InstallShield* installation program. You will be prompted to agree to the license agreement. Once the operating system reboots, follow the on-screen instructions and accept default settings to complete the setup.
