Description

This is the driver installation file for SpeedTouch 330 USB ADSL modem which should be working for Windows Vista and below (Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 98SE and Windows 95).

After you have downloaded the installation file, you can unzip it and you will find the Windows 98 driver under the folder /ST330/drivers/x86/win9x/st330. You will see the INF file and other system files required for Windows 98SE as per below:

  1. st330.inf
  2. st330.sys
  3. stbus.sys
  4. lpwdm.sys
As I do not have a Windows 98SE machine to test whether the Windows 98SE driver can be installed using the setup.exe, just in case it does not work, please install the driver manual by pointing Windows Hardware Wizard to locate the driver file under /ST330/drivers/x86/win9x/st330/ folder. In case you are facing problem installing the Windows 98SE driver, you can run the diagnostic tool diagnostics.exe under ST330_VistaSetup_v0.3/ST330/diagnostics/ folder.

This is something interesting to know if you failed to install the driver. According to an article on Wikipedia on SpeedTouch 330 ADSL modem:

Although it will work on Windows 98 Second Edition and Windows ME, users sometimes have trouble installing the modem. This is because the USB interface was introduced under Windows 98, and does not work as well as it does under more advanced Operating Systems such as Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
