This is the Windows XP Printer & Scanner Drivers and Utility for Ricoh Fax 1170L. Although Ricoh has stated on its website on the discontinued driver support for Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 9x(95/98/Me), I have found the trace of drivers for Windows 2000, Windows 95/98, Windows ME, Windows NT and Windows XP after I have extracted the file ricoh-aficio-fax-1170l-winxp.exe

From the files sizes and file download paths, seems that drivers for Windows Vista and Vista X64 are the same. I do not know why Ricoh lists them separately. Available drivers for Windows Vista are:

1. Printer Driver Type 1200: Ver.3.04
2. Scanner Driver Type 1200: Ver.2.02
3. Remote Control Panel: Ver.1.03

I notice there is mention of Type 1200 drivers in both Windows XP and Windows Vista and Vista X64 drivers. So if you know if your Ricoh fax is of type 1200, you can try these drivers out. Besides fax drivers, there are print drivers and TWAIN (scanner) drivers available for Ricoh Fax 1170L too.

Ricoh Fax 1170L Driver Installation

1. Installation is simple. Download the driver file ricoh-aficio-fax-1170l-winxp.exe
2. Run it. The installer will then start the file extraction and run the Type 1200 driver automatically.
3. You will be prompted to connect Type 1200 into your PC. From the picture shown seems that you can plug in either a serial cable or USB cable connections between your Ricoh Fax 1170L and your PC.
4. Follow on screen instructions to complete the driver installation.
