Description

According to Dell website, the Dimension 5150 (E510 in other place) is using the following sound cards:

  1. Integrated 7.1 channel audio
  2. Optional: Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit ADVANCED HDTM Audio
  3. Optional: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS (D)12 Sound Card with Dolby® Digital 5.1 and IEEE 1394
The IDT sound driver, according to my research IDT is a new name for SigmaTel. So that means you will need to find the driver for the integrated 7.1 channel audio which is built-in in your Dimension 5150 PC.

Luckily there are three audio drivers for download in Dimension 5150 driver download page. Two for Creative and one for Sigmatel! I believe we have found what we are looking for ;)

By the way the driver is labeled to be applied to STAC 92XX C-Major HD audio and is an optional download by Dell definition. The same Sigmatel IDT audio driver is compatible with the following Dell models:

  1. Dimension 9100
  2. Dimension 3100/E310
  3. Dimension 3100C
  4. Dimension 5100
  5. Dimension 5100C
  6. Dimension 5150/E510
  7. Dell Precision WorkStation 380
