For Sigmatel Soundmax driver, you cannot get the driver file directly from Sigmatel. Instead you will have to go to the manufacturer of your PC/notebook and download from their website. For this particular version (ver. 6.14.1.4200), I found the exact version from Gateway Computer website. The driver readme file mentioned it is for SigmaTel C-Major Audio but you can try install for your Soundmax audio as well.
This is the initial release of the driver. Before installing the new driver, please make a backup of ALL your important files. Create a system backup/restore point if you can. This will enable you to restore to the state before new driver and prevent lost of data.
To install the driver, download and extract the zipped driver file sigmatel_soundmax_6.14.1.4200.zip. Run setup.exe and follow on screen instructions to continue. Restart your PC and the new driver will be installed.
